Coaster Swap 2021 – Information

Hello!! I will be hosting my first Swap!!

If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw my video

explaining the details of the first Swap I will be hosting this month!!!

In this post I will summarize the main topics I discussed on my video on Instagram.

Communication

All the communication during the Swap, such as details, sponsors, giveaways, weekly tasks etc will be done in 3 ways: posts on my Instagram, blog posts right here and Newsletter emails!! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram in case you don’t and click on the bell on the right top of the screen to activate the alerts every time I post something new!! And to subscribe to my Newsletter (scroll down to the bottom of the page and fill out your name and email).

This is the first post in this blog about the Swap, but this week there will be more! I will post a simple tutorial on how to make a coaster with lots of piecing, quilting and binding tips and also explaining how is the best way to be mailed.

Swap duration – weekly schedule

The Swap registration opens on May 10th through May 14th, or if we reach 100 people registered the sign up page will be closed, whichever comes first.

Partner Information: May 17th – I will contact you on your Instagram inbox to let you know who you will be paired up with and the person’s address information. The person you will send a coaster is the person you will receive from.

Week 1: May 17th to May 23rd.

Week 2: May 24th to May 30th.

Week 3: May 31st to June 6th.

Week 4: June 7th to June 14th.

Mailing deadline: June 15th – this is the LAST day to mail your coaster to your partner!!!

The Swap

*1 Coaster Swap admission per person only.

*Buy the admission on my “Shop” section in this website from May 10th to May 14th at $3 to participate.

*Your order will generate a number that you will use to fill out your application form.

(Both LINKS to the admission purchase and to the application form you will find on my LinkTree Bio on Instagram from May 10th to May 14th).

*Filling out the application form, the first thing you will inform is your purchase order number (so I can identify you), and then fill out your information such as email, name, address etc.

*If you participate it automatically means you accept to mail worldwide (mailing under 1oz from US Post Office Service costs 1 stamp and it is $1.46). If you reside outside of the US consult what your costs will be before signing up.

The Coaster

Our theme for this Swap is SUMMER!! Some suggestions are to use lots of colors, be inspired by nature, flowers, animals, etc.

This Swap suits any skill level and you may receive a coaster from a person with a different skill level from yours, but surely the same love as you feel when you’re making a handmade product, and that is what matters!

The Coaster can be in any shape you want, square, circle, hexagon, and heart, for example, you can also use any technique of patchwork or applique you want BUT it needs to be a maximum of 5″ wide and 5″ tall and not smaller than 4″ wide and 4″ tall. This is because a regular letter mailing envelope is 5″x7″ and in order to pay just a stamp to mail as a regular letter, it should not exceed in size neither weight (1oz max).

It is like mailing a postcard, so it is also important to keep the coaster thin or it may cost more than a stamp to be mailed.

Swap Sponsors

As mentioned in the beginning, we will have WEEKLY GIVEAWAYS!!!!

As of now, we have 15 sponsors confirmed including myself!!! Isn’t that amazing!!!

For being an event open worldwide most of the Sponsors are giving away one of their amazing Patterns in PDF file. There will be one Sponsor giving away a set of labels & stickers and one Sponsor will send a fabric mini charm pack to one lucky winner.

Every week we will have at least 4 winners, for 4 different prizes each for one different sponsor. It is your chance to score that pattern you were dreaming about from your favorite Quilt Designer! All Designers chose their best pattern to send to you, so you don’t want to miss this cool part of our Swap!!

In a few days I will make a post featuring every single one of our Sponsors and the pattern they will be giving away, there are modern and traditional style regular piecing patterns, Foundation Paper Piecing patterns and even a pincushion pattern!!
